Chinese Mask

Nowadays, the two most common occasions when people wear masks are Chinese Opera and Chinese New Year. In the past, they had more to do with masks, from celebrating events to scaring evil spirits. To protect people from evil spirits, some masks were made, especially whose purpose was to drive them away from their homes. The Chinese mask used during the funeral was meant to ensure the soul rest in peace and scare away evil spirits. The masks used during ceremonies are meant to wish good luck and pray for happiness. Each color has a different meaning when it comes to theatre masks. Chinese opera is one of the well-known and oldest dramatic arts in the world. In Chinese culture, the dragon mask is used for prosperity and good luck and is usually red, gold, and blue.

Chinese Instruments

For thousands of years, China has preserved its musical tradition by passing on knowledge from generation to generation. The following are some of the traditional Chinese instruments: Erhu is a traditional string Chinese instrument that has been around for a thousand years. Yangqin became famous in China due to the Middle Eastern trade. Guqin produces some of the best ancient Chinese musical instrument sounds.

Many board games of China have gained international recognition; they have beautiful rules and complex strategies. Chinese checkers is famous in Chinese board games. Chinese checkers primary goal is to move all marble from the endpoint to the opposite point of the star. Chinese checkers can be played with multiple players. Xiangqi is a famous type of chess not only in China but all over Asia. Chinese chess xiangqi is similar to classic western chess, played on a rectangular nine × ten board. Go game is also called a board game for two players. Go is the oldest play board game globally; it is thought to have originated in China. Nowadays, it has been played as a computer game. Go requires great skill and strategy; it has infinite capabilities, the rules and pieces are still simple enough for children to play with.

For ages, tattooing body art has been known in China. In the Western world, Chinese tattoos have become an eye-catching trend among tattoo enthusiasts. Yueh Fei tattoo is the most famous tattoo in Chinese history. In the South, Yueh Fei was a general of the Song Dynasty. Dragon tattoos represent power, strength, wisdom, luck, and protection in Chinese culture. In Chinese culture, dragon tattoos are viewed as protectors because they brought good luck. The majestic creature tiger is famous for its power and aggression for its beauty and grace. Chinese tiger tattoos are often colorful tattoos and have detailed backgrounds. In Chinese mythology, the tiger controls the wind element and is called the guardian of the West. In China, it is also the guardian of the dead and is often etched on graves.
